Angel’s Envy, the Louisville distillery that has made a reputation of bending tradition without breaking it, is back with not one but two new limited releases. Today, the brand unveiled its latest Distillery Series offerings: Two-Grain Bourbon Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey and Peated Cask Rye Kentucky Straight Rye Whiskey Finished in Scotch Barrels. Both expressions are available exclusively at the Angel’s Envy distillery in downtown Louisville, priced at $54.99 each.
A Dual Release Inspired by Scotland and Kentucky

These bottles arrive with the fingerprints of Master Distiller Owen Martin, whose career has straddled two worlds: Kentucky’s bourbon heartland and Scotland’s centuries-old whisky culture. This duality shapes the releases, which Martin describes as “an intentional blending of heritage and innovation.” They are whiskey-making experiments in miniature, part of Angel’s Envy’s ongoing Distillery Series — a program of small-batch, distillery-only bottlings designed to push the boundaries of flavor while staying grounded in tradition.
Two-Grain Bourbon: A Kentucky Purist’s Dream
The Two-Grain Bourbon leans into Kentucky’s grain heritage. Bottled at 112 proof, it is distilled from a mash bill of 90% corn, sourced from Langley Farms in Shelbyville, Kentucky, and 10% malted barley. The whiskey is proofed with Louisville Pure Tap water and aged in Kelvin Cooperage barrels charred by hand. The result is a bold bourbon meant to showcase corn’s power and sweetness without the rye grain usually present in modern mash bills. Only 17,592 bottles are available — a generous release by Distillery Series standards, but still fleeting when compared to Angel’s Envy’s core portfolio.
Peated Cask Rye: Kentucky Meets Islay
If the bourbon honors home soil, the Peated Cask Rye ventures abroad. The whiskey is a six-year-old Kentucky straight rye finished in Scotch whisky casks sourced from Islay, giving it a smoky, maritime dimension rarely seen in American rye. Bottled at 100 proof, the Peated Cask Rye offers layers of pepper, herbs, and earthy spice — flavors that nod to both traditions, but refuse to sit comfortably in either. Just 7,200 bottles are available, making it the scarcer of the two releases.
Expanding the Distillery Series
Since its launch, Angel’s Envy’s Distillery Series has provided a sandbox for the brand’s most adventurous ideas. Each bottling is designed for enthusiasts willing to travel to Louisville and line up at the source. The new duo represents what Martin calls “globally inspired, locally crafted” whiskey — a philosophy that looks outward for influence while keeping the liquid rooted in Kentucky’s landscape and resources.
Availability and Pricing
Both the Two-Grain Bourbon and the Peated Cask Rye are priced at $54.99 per 750ml bottle. As with all Distillery Series releases, they will be sold exclusively at the Angel’s Envy distillery in Louisville, Kentucky, beginning this week.
For collectors, fans of the brand, or simply whiskey drinkers curious to taste Kentucky in conversation with Scotland, these two new releases mark one of the most compelling chapters yet in Angel’s Envy’s Distillery Series.
