Maker’s Mark Unveils 2025 Cellar Aged Bourbon, Its Oldest Blend Yet

Maker’s Mark 2025 Cellar Aged

Maker’s Mark has announced the return of its most mature expression: Maker’s Mark Cellar Aged 2025, a global limited release that blends 11-, 13-, and 14-year-old bourbon into a whiskey of unusual depth and elegance. Arriving this September, it marks the third year of the Cellar Aged program, which has quickly become one of the most anticipated annual events in the bourbon calendar.

“From the beginning, Maker’s Mark has gone to extraordinary lengths to craft an uncompromisingly delicious bourbon,” said Rob Samuels, eighth-generation whisky maker and managing director. “Cellar Aged 2025 is a continuation of that pursuit—an elevated expression that remains unmistakably Maker’s Mark.”

The Oldest Maker’s Mark Whiskey: A Bourbon Shaped by the Limestone Cellar

Unlike standard bottlings, Cellar Aged finishes its maturation in a limestone cellar built into the natural rock shelf surrounding the Maker’s Mark distillery at Star Hill Farm in Loretto, Kentucky. The cool, consistent environment slows the extraction of wood tannins and allows oxidation to coax out softer, more rounded flavors.

“By aging in these conditions, we avoid the overly bitter, tannic notes that can come with long years in a traditional rickhouse,” explained Master Distiller Dr. Blake Layfield. “The result is a bourbon that’s more complex, yet remarkably approachable.”

Tasting Notes

Maker's Mark Cellar Aged 2025

The 2025 blend is composed of 74% 11-year-old bourbon, 10% 13-year-old, and 16% 14-year-old, bottled at 56.45% ABV (112.9 proof). On the nose, it offers dark brown sugar, caramelized oak, and baked apple. The palate follows with creamy fudge, toasted almond, and ripe dark cherry, underpinned by lingering notes of butterscotch, orange zest, and baking spice. The finish is long, smooth, and warmly resonant—a bourbon made for slow contemplation.

Global Release and Pricing

Maker’s Mark Cellar Aged 2025 will carry a suggested retail price of $175 per 750ml bottle. The release will roll out mid-September in the United States, Germany, and Global Travel Retail, before reaching the United Kingdom, Australia, Korea, Japan, and Singapore later in 2025 and early 2026.
