Lagavulin and Nick Offerman Return With Caribbean Rum Cask Finish Aged 11 Years

Lagavulin Offerman Edition: Caribbean Rum Cask Finish Aged 11 Years

The Lagavulin Offerman Edition: Caribbean Rum Cask Finish Aged 11 Years arrives with Nick and the Diageo-owned Islay brand opting to produce a sweet and smoky single malt

Nick Offerman and Lagavulin have returned with the fourth installment of their Lagavulin Offerman Edition: Caribbean Rum Cask Finish Aged 11 Years. This limited-edition collaborative release is inspired by the Parks and Recreation star’s “deep-seated affinity for maritime adventure,” says a press release.

Lagavulin Offerman Edition: Caribbean Rum Cask Finish Aged 11 Years bottle

The Lagavulin Offerman Edition: Caribbean Rum Cask Finish Aged 11 Years Single Malt Scotch whisky is aged for 11 years in ex-bourbon and ex-sherry casks, then finished for over eight months in ex-Caribbean Rum casks. The sweet and smoky whisky offers notes of lemon meringue, honey, vanilla, toffee, golden cinnamon, and a maritime brine, balancing tropical flavors and the brand’s famed peaty character.

“Laboring together with Lagavulin blending master Stuart Morrison, we have landed upon our most delicious, exotic liquid yet,” Offerman proclaimed. “Now to silence the scandal-mongers. There have been many accusations leveled against me regarding my desire to concoct the perfect dram to sit and sip whilst viewing my favorite mermaid musicals, so that I might feel even more fully like a Scottish-Caribbean underwater siren-princess. To these scurrilous abusers I have only this to say: what I do in my own time, whether under the sea or above it, is nobody’s business but my own. Slàinte mhath.”

To accompany the launch, Lagavulin and Nick Offerman have teamed up to create a comedic video spot for the “My Tales of Whisky” series on YouTube, to tell the story of this liquid’s inspiration. The video follows Nick on a journey as he sets sail to craft the newest Lagavulin expression.

The brand recommends enjoying the Scotch neat, on the rocks, or alongside desserts.

On May 10th, Los Angeles residents 21+ are invited to experience Offerman and his whisky adventures in all their glory firsthand by stepping into an installation in Venice Beach. The pop-up, located at 57 Wynward Ave, looks to immerse guests in the sights, sounds, and flavors that served as the muse for the new whisky. The event is invite only, but you can enroll to receive one by signing up with AnyRoad.

The Lagavulin Offerman Edition: Caribbean Rum Cask Finished is priced at $89.99 and will be available wherever fine spirits are sold in the U.S., U.K., Germany, China, Taiwan, Australia and the Lagavulin Distillery in Scotland.

The first edition of this collaborative whisky was launched back in 2019, while a second Guinness Cask Finish bottling hit shelves in 2021.
