Halter Ranch Texas Tasting Room Brings World Class Food & Wine To Hill Country

Halter Ranch Texas

California-based wine makers Halter Ranch have opened a tasting room in Texas Hill Country

Anyone who doubts that Texas has wine country hasn’t made a trip to Fredericksburg in the last few years. The central Texas city, less than two hours west of Austin, has built a reputation for vino with over 60 wineries situated in the surrounding area. Now, California-based Halter Ranch is headed to Texas Hill Country with the opening of its own regional tasting room.

Set on a 32-acre, oak-studded landscape, the newest tasting room from Halter Ranch features a rich selection of wines made from organic grapes and an elevated restaurant that offers seasonal, organic cuisine that celebrates local ingredients. Outside of its Paso Robles, California home, this is the premier expansion for the brand.

Fredericksburg Tasting Room

The Texas tasting room in Fredericksburg looks to blend “Texas flair with the Halter Ranch ethos,” says a press release. While the lush, oak-studded landscape will naturally pull visitors to the space, the property’s modern architecture also expects to be a draw. The tasting room is separated from the dining room, but both work in tandem to showcase the brand’s wines. Executive Chef Paul Arangorin leads the tasting room’s Restaurant H, which will work with local purveyors on its seasonal menus.

“Like many who visit the Texas Hill Country, we were enchanted by the land and drawn to create another home for Halter Ranch,” sats Bryce Mullins, Vice President and General Manager of Halter Ranch. “We’re humbled by the warm welcome from the Fredericksburg community and look forward to offering an oasis to our growing Texas wine club while inviting others into the Halter Ranch family.”

Halter Ranch Wine

Led by Winemaker Kevin Sass, the wine selection includes a new Texas-made Rosé and a Sparkling Cabernet Sauvignon. Sass partners with two Texas farmers who harvest organic grapes and works closely with Bending Branch Winery in Comfort, TX, to produce the wines.

“Our priority with Halter Ranch Texas was to create something beautiful with as little impact on the land as possible,” Sass shares. “This is also the backbone of our viticulture: an organic approach that blossoms into delectable, terroir-forward wines. We can’t wait to share Halter Ranch with all of Texas.”

The Texas Hill Country tasting room is now open at 8561 E US-290, Fredericksburg, TX 78624. Head over to the official website for more information or to make a reservation.
