Glendronach Unwraps Grandeur Batch 12

Glendronach Grandeur Batch 12

A 29-Year-Old Highland Whisky Aged Exclusively In Olorsso Sherry Casks

The GlenDronach has announced the annual release of The GlenDronach Grandeur Batch 12. The 29 years old whisky is composed of a bespoke selection of rare sherry casks hand-selected by Master Blender Rachel Barrie.

“Every year since its inception in 2010, each limited edition batch of The GlenDronach Grandeur series has been highly anticipated and acclaimed, revered by connoisseurs and malt whisky aficionados for its character and full-bodied style and this is one of its most luxurious expressions to date,” said Barrie. “Grandeur Batch 12 is sure to be no exception, crafted from a bespoke selection of our oldest and most magnificent Oloroso sherry casks.”

Having matured slowly in Oloroso sherry casks for nearly three decades, this expression epitomizes the richest rewards bestowed from the finest Spanish oak sherry casks. With a hue of dark mahogany, Grandeur Batch 12 delivers rich sherry aromas alongside notes of seductive cocoa, damson plum, walnut, arabica coffee, and glazed cherry. The palate finds more plum and cocoa, along with notes of treacle, cherry brandy, and espresso. The richly rewarding finish features tobacco and sherry-soaked walnut finish.

Bottled at 49.2% ABV, The GlenDronach Grandeur Batch 12 is available in limited quantities in select markets for an SRP of $830. For more information, head over to the brand’s official website.

In May, The GlenDronach unveiled Batch 12 of its iconic Cask Strength Single Malt whisky. The twelfth release of this decadent Scotch boasts exceptional depths of sherry cask maturation, marrying Highland spirit to Spanish oak.
