Whyte & Mackay has unveiled the 2025 edition of The Dalmore Portfolio Series, a limited-edition collection created for global travel retail (GTR). Curated in collaboration with Scotland’s V&A Dundee design museum, the 2025 release brings together Highland single malts, red wine cask finishes, and a visual identity shaped by graphic artist Gabriella Marcella.
The Dalmore has long made a point of marrying whisky craftsmanship with the broader language of design. The Portfolio Series, which debuted last year, set out to be more than a collector’s item—it was pitched as a cultural object, where packaging and spirit exist in dialogue. The 2025 release carries that experiment further, with Marcella reinterpreting the Mackenzie clan tartan, an emblem bound to The Dalmore’s own founding heritage.
Three Whiskies, Three Stories
The Portfolio Series 2025 consists of three whiskies, each finished in a different French red wine cask, bottled without chill-filtration or added color.
- Portfolio Series No. 1 is finished in Bordeaux wine casks and bottled at 46.8% ABV. Limited to 3,595 bottles, it will retail for £500 (US$635).
- Portfolio Series No. 2 undergoes secondary maturation in Châteauneuf-du-Pape casks, bottled at 46% ABV and limited to 1,596 bottles, with a retail price of £750 (US$953).
- Portfolio Series No. 3 is finished in Bordeaux Cabernet Sauvignon casks, bottled at 49.7% ABV. Just 1,014 bottles are available, each priced at £1,000 (US$1,270).
All three expressions are NAS (no age statement), though the emphasis here is on cask influence and rarity.
The Dalmore Portfolio Series 2025: A Travel-Exclusive Debut
The Dalmore Portfolio Series 2025 will make its global travel retail debut on September 1 at Singapore Changi Airport, through an exclusive partnership with Lotte Duty Free. The launch also marks The Dalmore’s first-ever pop-up at the airport.
Following its one-month exclusive in Singapore, the collection will roll out to additional international hub airports beginning in October. For collectors and travelers alike, the airport setting underscores The Dalmore’s strategy of positioning whisky as part of a broader journey of discovery.
Janice McIntosh, GTR marketing director at Whyte & Mackay, said:
“We are proud to build on the success of the inaugural launch with The Portfolio Series 2025 and the limited edition release of this exceptional whisky collection, which is celebrated visually in the standout packaging created by the bold creative vision of Gabriella Marcella. Last year, through our pioneering airport art gallery concept, we really pushed the boundaries to introduce this special concept, which was exceptionally well received.”
The Design: A Contemporary Tartan

For the 2025 edition, Marcella worked with risograph printing techniques—layering soy-based inks in imperfect, tactile alignments—to reinterpret the Mackenzie tartan. Her work draws on themes of motion, process, and time, translating whisky’s flowing textures into graphic form.
Marcella explained:
“My aim was to translate the smooth, flowing characteristics of these whiskies into visual elements—ones that evoke movement and tactility. My approach was to honour the Mackenzie tartan’s heritage while reimagining it in ways that felt contemporary and in alignment with The Dalmore’s innovative spirit.”
In that sense, the Portfolio Series 2025 does not just offer whisky—it offers an ongoing conversation between Highland distilling tradition and Scotland’s contemporary design culture. For global travelers passing through Changi, it is a moment to witness Scotch as both spirit and symbol.
