Tomatin Adds 12 Year Old Sherry Cask To Core Range

Tomatin 12 Year Old Sherry Cask

Inverness-based distillery, Tomatin, has unveiled the latest addition to its core range of single malt Scotch whiskies, the 12 Year Old Sherry Cask.

Highland distillery Tomatin has unveiled the latest addition to its core range, the 12 Year Old Sherry Cask. The original 12 Year Old from the Inverness-based whisky makers still resides in the core lineup and is matured in a combination of Bourbon barrels and Sherry casks.

The Tomatin 12 Year Old Sherry Cask aged solely in Sherry casks, bringing the whisky more decadent and rich flavors. On the nose, the Scotch delivers aromas of caramelized apple, orange peel, and apricot with undertones of aged leather. The palate features chocolate fudge, golden manuka honey, and notes of dried fruit and nuts.

Tomatin created a new design for the release, encasing the single malt in a scarlet exterior embossed with gold foil accents. The bottle grows the Highland distiller’s core collection to six expressions, giving it a diverse range of whiskies matured in different cask types

“The global demand for well-matured sherried malts, particularly in markets like Asia, has inspired this latest addition to our core range,” says Scott Adamson, Blender & Global Brand Ambassador at Tomatin Distillery. “Tomatin has a unique ability to balance tradition with innovation, embracing our time-honoured techniques and contemporary practices to push the boundaries of flavour exploration. For over a century, Tomatin has featured sherry casks in our maturation process, and this new release stands as the next evolution of this tradition.

“Our 12 Year Old Sherry Cask captures the essence of our renowned 12 Year Old, enhancing its signature smoothness and focusing its aromatic profile to create a sherry cask whisky with a depth of flavour that is luxuriously indulgent.”

Bottled at 40% ABV, the Tomatin 12 Year Old Sherry Cask is priced at £52 and is available for purchase at select specialist retailers worldwide as well as the brand’s official website.

Last year, Tomatin revealed the Italian Collection, a limited-edition trio of single malt whiskies finished in Italian wine casks.
