Johnnie Walker has unveiled a striking new limited-edition design for Johnnie Walker Blue Label, created in collaboration with acclaimed Indian fashion designer Rahul Mishra. Timed for the Indian festive season, the release blends whisky heritage with haute couture artistry, celebrating both craftsmanship and cultural connection.

A Meeting of Icons: Johnnie Walker and Rahul Mishra

Mishra, the first Indian designer invited to show at Paris Haute Couture Week, is celebrated for his intricate embroidery, mastery of color, and commitment to slow fashion. His philosophy of “mindful luxury” and supporting traditional artisans informs his design for Johnnie Walker Blue Label.

The partnership reflects the values both whisky and fashion share—time, patience, and the human touch. Mishra explains:

“Slowing the process of craft and creating a sustainable eco-system for artisans is something close to my heart. Sharing this philosophy with a brand with centuries of heritage and a lineage of craftspeople has been very special.”

A Design Inspired by ‘Bright Beginnings’

The limited-edition bottle and packaging draw inspiration from native Indian flora and fauna, with motifs of blooming flowers and spirited animals. Mishra describes the artwork as a celebration of “bright beginnings,” with a vivid festive night sky symbolizing abundance and joy.

The Whisky Within: Johnnie Walker Blue Label

At the heart of the collaboration lies the whisky itself. Known for its rare depth, only 1 in 10,000 casks from Johnnie Walker’s reserves of over 10 million maturing Scotch whiskies is selected for Blue Label.

Dr Emma Walker, Johnnie Walker Master Blender, describes its profile:

“It has a rich, smooth and luxurious flavor – fresh citrus and rose petals, giving way to dark chocolate, vanilla, and hazelnut wrapped in warming smoke.”
