There’s a particular tension that comes with collaborations between heritage whisky houses and the world of high-octane performance. It isn’t always clear if the brands are simply borrowing one another’s glow, or if something deeper is at play. With the unveiling of the Glenfiddich 16-Year-Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky—created in celebration of the Speyside distillery’s partnership with the Aston Martin Formula One Team—what we’re looking at feels like the latter.
The Glenfiddich 16-Year-Old

Launched as a limited edition, the Scotch is designed to embody the shared values of craftsmanship, precision, and daring innovation. “This release marks an exciting milestone in our journey with the Aston Martin Formula One™ Team,” said Claudia Falcone, Glenfiddich Global Brand Director. “Through this collaboration we invite enthusiasts worldwide to engage with these iconic brands in bold new ways… this limited-edition bottling is just the beginning.”
The whisky itself tells its own story of engineering and artistry. Matured in a careful combination of American oak wine casks, new American barrels, and second-fill bourbon casks, the spirit emerges with richness layered in maple syrup, caramelized ginger, and ripe fruit. At 43% ABV, the palate leans toward fresh fruit salad and sweet cream, closing with a finish that is both supple and assertive—“a celebration of blending tradition with the thrill of innovation,” in the words of Glenfiddich Malt Master Brian Kinsman.
Glenfiddich and Aston Martin Formula One Partnership

The partnership between Glenfiddich and Aston Martin Formula One Team was first announced in late 2024, with its debut at the Las Vegas Grand Prix—a fitting stage for two brands that thrive on both spectacle and exacting performance. Jefferson Slack, Managing Director of the Aston Martin Formula One Team, called the new release “a true symbol of craftsmanship and performance… further cementing the coming together of our two iconic brands.”
The Glenfiddich 16-Year-Old arrives globally in September 2025, available in limited quantities with a suggested retail price of $75. For whisky collectors and fans of motorsport alike, it offers a rare opportunity to taste where heritage meets velocity, where patience and precision are placed alongside speed and risk.
As with Formula One, the achievement here is balance: the fine line between precision and intuition, between horsepower and handcraft. Glenfiddich’s latest bottling proves that sometimes a partnership isn’t just a sponsorship—it’s a new way of thinking about what whisky can be.
