In a landmark celebration of its near two-century-long heritage, The Glendronach Distillery, masters of sherry cask maturation since 1826, today announces the release of two expressions of unparalleled depth and complexity: The Glendronach 30-Year-Old and the magnificent Glendronach 40-Year-Old, 2025 Edition. Following last year’s celebrated relaunch of the brand, these new expressions mark a milestone of sherry cask artistry and decades of patient craftsmanship.
Both expressions will be available in select global markets starting Tuesday, September 9th, with just 1,300 bottles of the 30-Year-Old and a mere 70 bottles of the 40-Year-Old allocated to the U.S.
The Glendronach 30-Year-Old: A Symphony of Sherry Casks
The Glendronach 30-Year-Old is a captivating Highland Single Malt that showcases the sublime artistry of marrying whisky from three distinct sherry cask styles. Master Blender Rachel Barrie has expertly woven together the character of spirits matured in Pedro Ximénez, Oloroso, and, for the first time, Amontillado casks to create a whisky of exceptional richness and layered complexity.
“Three decades of maturation have resulted in a sublime and charming Single Malt, with generous layers of rich and complex character,” says Barrie. “It is the ultimate expression of our dedication to the art of sherry cask maturation.”
The inclusion of the Amontillado cask adds a sophisticated layer of toasted hazelnut and mellow crème caramel, complementing the signature notes of dark cherry, chocolate, and spiced fruit from the Pedro Ximénez and Oloroso casks.
The whisky is presented in a luxurious walnut curl veneer case, engraved with 30 facets to honour the three decades of maturation.
