Evelyn’s at Hutton Hotel

Evelyn’s at Hutton Hotel West End Nashville

Evelyn’s at Hutton Hotel in Nashville, delivers Southern style dishes alongside classic cocktails inside an art-filled space that exudes elegance

Designed as a love letter to classic Americana, Evelyn’s sits inside Hutton Hotel in the historic Nashville West End neighborhood. It’s just a 20-minute walk from Lower Broadway’s famed honky-tonks, but offers a very different atmosphere, delivering elegance and sophistication alongside its Southern style fare and classic cocktails.

Playing homage to Evelyn Sharp—a 20th-century socialite and art collector–the art-filled space features a cosmopolitan feel. The best time to sidle up to the bar comes at the tail end of dinner, when things have begun to quiet down but the full menu is still available.

Daniel King, Restaurant and Bar Manager for Evelyn’s at Hutton Hotel, tells us…

Please describe Evelyn’s as if you’re explaining the experience of walking through the doors and ordering your first drink.

Evelyn’s is a love letter to classic Americana, showcasing welcoming and comforting design details that apply contemporary inspiration to the mid-century modern aesthetic. Classic and elegant yet spirited and lively, Evelyn’s is art-filled with a cosmopolitan-like vibe, paying homage to its namesake, Evelyn Sharp—a 20th-century hotelier, investor, socialite, and art collector. The restaurant boasts a thoughtfully curated dining room that exemplifies Evelyn’s passion for hosting and hospitality. Additionally, the moody bar provides the perfect setting for socializing over a drink.

How would you describe Evelyn’s in a three-word text to a friend that you’re trying to convince to join you?

Elegant, intimate, sophisticated

Other than Evelyn’s, what else is happening in the neighborhood that you’re in?

Analog, an electrifying and intimate music venue tucked away inside Hutton Hotel, has become synonymous with unforgettable one-of-a-kind entertainment experiences. With artists like Noah Guthrie and songwriters like Anna Wilson (who has recorded and performed with Keith Urban, Lady A, Kenny Rogers and more) gracing the stage, Analog promises to captivate fans with a diverse range of musical genres.

Lower Broadway, a 20-minute walk from Hutton Hotel, represents the epitome of Nashville’s iconic charm. The street is lined with honky-tonks that play music all day and night. Passersby are lured in by the music and neon signs, making it another great place to enjoy a round of drinks and live music. Located near the Cumberland River, Lower Broadway symbolizes Nashville’s past, present, and future as Music City.

Hillsboro Village, a 15-minute walk from Hutton’s front door and along the edge of Vanderbilt’s campus, is an eclectic and relaxed neighborhood that serves as a popular destination for students and locals alike. This beloved Nashville neighborhood offers everything from some of the country’s best ice cream to Nashville’s independent cinema, Belcourt Theatre.

Aside from Happy Hour, when is the best time to get to the bar?

The best time to slip into the bar is actually at the tail end of dinner time, around 8:00 – 9:00 pm. We serve our full menu, and it is separated enough from the happy hour crowd, allowing you to spend a little more time having the bartender work up something special for you.

Describe the average drinkers that you serve?

We attract drinkers of all sorts and often welcome many visitors from out of town. We always offer a variety of local options to ensure they get a taste of Tennessee!

Please tell us more about your drink’s menu.

Guests can expect flavors of the South, accompanied by a curated spirits list, an extensive international wine menu, local beers on tap, and expertly crafted classic cocktails.

What’s your signature drink–or your favorite drink currently on the menu–and why should I order it?

My current personal favorite cocktail is called “Train to Nowhere.” It’s reposado tequila-based, featuring a splash of Derrumbes San Luis Potosi mezcal to infuse with notes of green pepper and Huana soursop liqueur for added body and a touch of tropical fruitiness. We shake it with grapefruit, lime and a housemade rosemary-steeped sorghum syrup. The cocktail is garnished with a flamed sprig of rosemary, creating a perfect marriage of bright, fruity flavors with roasted winter aromatics.

How much do drinks cost?

Cocktails cost $15

Is there anything to eat?  If so – what’s your favorite dish on the menu?

Evelyn’s serves breakfast, brunch, and dinner and offers snacks, small plates, and large plates for every kind of eater, including vegetarian and vegan options. Some specialty small plates include steak tartare, burrata tartine, and rock shrimp and andouille. Evelyn’s also offers larger plates such as southern fish and chips, roasted ribeye, and a broiler red snapper. Lastly, the dessert menu is a must – featuring a biscuit cobbler, seasonal tarts, and Evelyn’s sundae.
