Balderdash

Balderdash

Just one street from the upscale boutiques of Strøget, Balderdash brings both innovation and hygge to the flourishing cocktail bar scene of Copenhagen.

Located inside an 18th century home in bustling Indre By, the center of Copenhagen, Balderdash delivers a sense of whimsy with innovative, yet classic cocktails. From the Risalamande Clarified Milk to a Coconut-Horseradish Daiquiri, seasonality plays a clear role as does its cozy atmosphere, a clear representation of the Danish concept of “hygge.”

Owner Geoffrey Canilao tells us:

Please describe Balderdash as if you’re explaining the experience of walking through the doors and ordering your first drink.

Balderdash is a quirky bar, fun and imaginative drinks that reflect modern Copenhagen in one of the oldest houses in Copenhagen with unpretentious dive bar-like service

How would you describe Balderdash in a three-word text to a friend that you’re trying to convince to join you?

Quirky, unpretentious, and surprising

Other than Balderdash, what else is happening in the neighborhood that you’re in?

It’s in the middle of the city, in one of the oldest streets next to the walking streets that houses design stores.

Aside from Happy Hour, when is the best time to get to the bar?

Anytime, we don’t do happy hour but to get a seat before pre dinner service would be the best.

Describe the average drinkers that you serve?

Please tell us more about your drinks menu.

What’s your signature drink–or your favorite drink currently on the menu–and why should I order it?

At this point The Clarified Coconut-Horseradish Daiquiri. Its an interesting combination that is familiar but also challenging.

How much do drinks cost?

130 to 140 Danish Kroner

Is there anything to eat? If so – what’s your favorite dish on the menu?

We don’t have anything to eat besides a rotating bar snack. but it depends if we have a food pop up with a chef or an idea.

What are the distinguishing features of Balderdash?

The building was built in 1732 with modern kitchen and bar equipment… A clash between old and new .
