Barceló Imperial Porto Cask Delivers Notes Of Fig Cream, Wild Fruit Jams, & English Butterscotch

Barceló Imperial Porto Cask

Dominican rum maker Ron Barceló has added Imperial Porto Cask to its Rare Blends Collection

Ron Barceló has added a new Port-finished rum to its premium portfolio, Barceló Imperial Porto Cask. The new offering joins the Dominican brand’s Rare Blends Collection.

Barceló Imperial Porto Cask is made from the nectar of the finest selection of Dominican sugar cane from Barceló-own cane fields. It is first aged in oak barrels with different degrees of toast to create a complex flavor profile. Once the blend is achieved, the Porto Cask expression is aged in Tawny 10 port wine barrels to provide added complexity and unique flavors that distinguishes the spirit.

An exuberant purplish amber in color, the rum offers aromas of fig cream, wild fruit jams, English butterscotch, and dried cherries alongside subtle but persistent wood notes. The silky and sweet palate leads to a long, lingering finish.

The rum is best enjoyed neat at room temperature or chilled in a short glass.  According to the brand, it pairs perfectly with fine cigars, aged cheeses, rich desserts, dark chocolate, and selected cuts of red meats.

Bottled at 40% ABV, The rum will be officially available on February 13, 2024 for an SRP of $59.99. For more, head over to the brand’s official website.

Ron Barceló was the first brand to introduce an Organic rum from the Dominican Republic, launching Barceló Organic back in 2021.
